Jayden is a founding member of TSTAR and a queer and trans activist, researcher, and scholar. Jayden earned his Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology from the University of Louisville and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Counseling Psychology. One of his current research projects, the Kentucky Trans Health Project, is focused on assessing the barriers to health care access that transgender individuals face in Kentucky. His other research and social justice advocacy interests relates to cultural identity development, multiculturalism, communities of color, mental health, and queer and transgender communities, especially queer and transgender Asians, Asian American, and Pacific Islanders. Jayden's understanding of the intersectionality of race/ethnicity, social class, gender, and sexuality shapes his approach to activism and social justice, which seeks to raise understanding/awareness of privileges/biases and empower all voices in our communities to share and honor their narratives and truths. When he is not working to end injustice in the world, Jayden enjoys rock climbing, spoiling his cats, and all things Doctor Who.
